Mrs. Vershlovsky's two second grade
classes enjoyed a scavenger hunt in honor
of Jewish Book Month. The scavenger hunt
was designed by math honors students, Nava, Anna,
and Rena
of 5B. Each student was assigned a
numerical clue and had to find a book that
matched that clue. Students counted the
number of chapters, number of pages,
number of words on a page, and even the
number of a particular letter in the
title. Students measured books, compared
prices on two books and compared
copyrights to the year they were born.
Each student was successful and won a
bookmark with addition facts on it.
Additional prizes were given for finding
Jewish books and for full class
participation. Everyone enjoyed the
event.
